Those Lazy Days of Summer Were Very Busy for CRM

Some of us are old enough to remember a song by Nat King Cole, called “Those Lazy, Hazy, Crazy Days of Summer.”  Well, for CRM this summer was anything but lazy. The summer began with a team of 10 going to Kenya where they trained 130 teachers to use the Story Cloth in their classrooms.  2500 children listened intently as the stories were shared in classrooms. This mission also included a cow clinic where 11,800 cows were vaccinated as those herding cows received the presentation of the stories.

Two members of this team went on to Zambia where 30 spiritual leaders in the Copperbelt Province were trained in the use of the stories in their ministries, with most of them agreeing to send teachers in their church to a workshop this fall.

On June 21, a coed team from Central Baptist Church in North Carolina made their way to Tanzania where they camped in an area near Kesirian, Tanzania.  This team of 8 men and 4 women not only saw 952 people pray to receive Christ, but also implemented CRM’S MAWL strategy which stands for Model, Assist, Watch, and Leave.  They left behind 7 Tanzanian spiritual leaders capable of continuing the Evangelism Story Cloth strategy!

July 18 six men from Knoxville, TN, left for Tanzania to do camping evangelism in an area around Kitumbenie.  They were joined by guides and interpreters who were trained in May in both Story Cloths. The camping team modeled the presentation of the stories during the first part of the week and then began to turn over the presentation of the stories to the interpreters during the latter part of the week.  At the end of the missions, 1395 people prayed to receive Christ.

August 2, a discipleship team from Tennessee left for Tanzania to work with spiritual leaders there in beginning the discipleship process using the Story Cloths with those who came to Christ during the summer.  They discipled 180 of the new believers during their time there. Another 165 responded to the Gospel as they presented the stories on market days.

Through the work in Tanzania this summer, churches are already forming and meeting under trees.  Please pray for a CRM team going to Tanzania in February of 2019 to do follow up and to assist with building church roofs.  Please also pray for the Story Cloth work in India taking place this month and for David and Renee Crane who depart in early September to do work among refugees from South Sudan living in the Kakuma camp in the NW region of Kenya.  Many refugees are being led to Christ and being discipled using the Story Cloth.

It was not a lazy summer for CRM. Dozens of volunteers served in CRM missions this summer.  Literally, several thousand people responded to the gospel or received training in using the Story Cloths.  None of this would have been possible without your faithful support and that of our partnering churches. Please pray about how God may want to work through you to do His work through CRM. We have requests for funding for workshops in India and Zambia this fall.  Work on uploading various translations of the Story Cloth continues. There are already four trips scheduled for 2019. Pray about going or giving so others may go. You can give online by going to our website, or by mailing your contribution to CRM, 4100 Fulton Rd, Corryton, TN, 37721.

May God richly bless you for your prayers and support. (2 Corinthians 9:13)
