CRM’s Donors Save Lives during Sudan War

*all names have been changed for security

Husain wrote Nabila’s appreciation for her evacuation by CRM.
Praise the Lord. My name is Nabawya. I grew up as a Muslim. All my family were Muslim before I came to know Christ. I came to know Jesus Christ in 2023, and I accepted him as my personal Lord and Saviour through Pastor Adam. Many of my relatives came to know him through me, but the fact remains that the majority are still Muslims.

I greet you by His grace, my dear brothers and sisters. Thank you very much for rescuing us from Z… to N... It is only God who knows how much that means to us. Although the war is between Muslims many unbelievers insulted saying that we who accepted our Lord Jesus Christ are the ones who brought war to them. We asked them questions about different places with intensive war like in Yemen, Syria, in Pakistan, and in Afghanistan. Are in these countries also Muslims turn to Christ and brought to them war or war is due to Islamic nature?

However, as most of our people are illiterate, they only kept oral information, and they cling to it. I am telling you the truth, the war is worse, but living together with loved ones who insult you day and night feels more painful. But my prayer is that may the Lord show himself to them to come to know him. Please pray for us that life is getting very hard even in N... We really lack food in N... Please pray for God’s provision.

Testimony of Awad
My name is Awad A.... I grew up as a Muslim in a very extreme Muslim family. In 2018 I have seen the light of Christ through Pastor Adam. My wife and I accepted the Lord as our personal Lord and Savior. From the time we live our Christian faith, we have seen great things that the Lord has done. Most of our extended family came to know Christ through us. They have found that the only solution for their many problems is Jesus Christ. My wife was a student at Z… University. She had a lot of friends from different areas. We shared the word of God with her colleagues who used to come at our home.

God has blessed us with a group of students from ____ with this group, God made miracles. God changed most of their families. That gave me an encouragement that Darfur will definitely change one day one time. We have lived a very happy life since the time we accepted the Lord. Though we faced terrible persecution.

I lost my brother because of his faith, and one was shot with Muslim gunmen they were killing him, but God spared his life. Many of our relatives excommunicated us. They do not come to our home when we have any occasion of happiness or sorrow. The worst part was the day the owner of the house I was renting knew that we had converted to Christianity. He immediately terminated my contract and brought my money back. It was in rain season. He came and told us we must leave his house immediately. We had no option but to move. I asked my wife to pray to God, our provider, and He is going to provide us with our needs.

We were praying, and as we finished, my brother came from nowhere. He asked, “What is happening? I could see you removed everything out.” I told him that the owner needs his house back. He said, “I think it’s God’s will that you will not continue to live here. I even came here to tell you that to find someone to leave him in my house, I am travelling to Khartoum, and it will take some time. I may not come back soon. So let me go and get Tutuk and take your things there.” So he went and brought Tuktuk, and we carried our things into his home. We were there until the war broke out in Z…. Then we have to leave the house again without carrying a single thing. We ran for our lives. RSF immediately moved in, and they stayed there up to today.

We moved back and forth to areas of ____ and K... It was terrible, we can see a hundred people a head of us but after a second we see no one is there and we wouldn’t know where they have gone. Bombs are falling everywhere, and shellings are crossing between armie. On top of this, when we move to someone’s home. Early in the morning, he wakes us up to pray about Islamic prayers, and we tell them we are Christians. Now, in the morning, no one greets until we greet them.

We prayed to God we cried to Jesus, and he answered our prayers through CRM. By His grace, we moved from Z… to N…. I want to say that CRM people are an example of a good Christian. I have received 62 Bibles from CRM, I have also received some help in real time, and I thank God so much about CRM people. Their help changed many people’s lives, physically and spiritually. This is exactly what it means to live love out. My prayers for CRM people are that may they lack nothing as they continue serving the Lord through his people.

Please pray for us. The war in N.. is still continued, and life is under real threat. We are hardly getting our daily bread. Medicine is a big issue. We are witnessing the death of young ones daily. Please pray for our brothers and sisters who are in N... Some of them we have not heard from them up to today.

Homer and Sabrina
“Homer” was Muslim who came to Christ when we preached good news to him. He told us that he also taught his wife “Sabrina the Bible every night before they go to bed. Sabrina saw the way her husband changed and the way he began to treat her. On 21/01/2022 the couple were reading the Bible. Sabrina was thinking different things about this new way. Homer realized that Sabrina was not concentrating. He asked, her “what is the matter?” She said, “we really need expose this way to our people. I have seen the life of my father and his wives. They had no peace at all every night they quarrel and sometimes my father beat my mother. I have seen my elder sister goes in the same way with her husband. My brother with his wife. They have no peace at their homes. The reason is because they don't have Chirst in their lives. Though it is heard for them to accept Christ but as I and you have accepted Christ in our lives, let's work heard to bring our relatives to Christ.”

Homer got very happy as his wife could think that way within a short time of her experience with Christianity. Homer told his wife let's pray that God will help us preach his word to our people.

Please let's pray for this couple to serve God in his kingdom.

Muhammad from Kutum (CRM funded the evacuation of these believers to Jebel Marra after learning of their plight)
“We are so sorry that things in Sudan go to the worst. We lost five Christian families and forty-five Muslim families in Kutum. There are unknown numbers that are wounded. Since Saturday up today, they are still collecting wounded people.

Fatima, who gave believers her home to pray in had her house burned to ashes. Her two daughters and husband were killed by Militias. Fatima’s husband’s shop was burned into ashes. She is not happy but she surprised all Muslims there. Muslims came and told her that ‘we told you to believe in Allah and that he would protect you.’ But what she said was, “My God himself gave his own son to save mankind. What about me, a human being, whom death is an obligation? I am like the rest of the people who lost their family members. You people are supposed to comfort me instead of blaming me. But I believe it’s our enemy who blinds you, and you are only able to work for him.”

This was a big issue for Muslims. People divided some of them who said she was right. Others said she is not supposed to defend even the big issue. But she said, “ If you knew Jesus, you would act like a guilty person in the court. But unfortunately, the Devil is not happy with you. “One of the relatives was not happy with what she was saying, and he struck her, and she is also among the dead. Dear all, please pray for her two surviving children.

Among the five families survived were Fatima’s two other children and Radhid, whose kids and wife were also dead.

Testimony from a leader in Jebel Marra, Darfur

CRM has helped many believers evacuate to Jebel Marra. The below testimony shows how God used CRM’s donation of Bibles to believers in Jebel Marra to be ready to receive fellow believers.

“My fellow brothers and sisters in the Lord, this year has been a wonderful year for us in Jabal Marra. We received our Bibles. We have received many lost souls, even those who were fighting us. We enjoyed the time together reading the word of God. We prayed together and fasted to the Lord to see us. He has done many miracles through CRM. We had our Bibles. We have encouragement from different people. It was a blessing for us to see that. We understand what is happening in Sudan is for the good of believers. Though it’s something to be grieved. But God will bring the best out of this. Please pray for our situation. Things have dramatically changed. The sack of sugar was 30 thousand pounds, and today is 1500,00 pounds. The growth is that Muslims are turning to Jesus Christ. Pray that we can meet our daily expenses; God will bring peace in Sudan.”

Salim brought Yusra to N... She is among the group CRM evacuated from Khartoum to Jabal Marra.
My beloved brothers and sisters. We made our journey to Jabal Marra. We are all safe and sound except Yousra, who got very sick. We thought she was going to die. But believers’ prayers saved her. We are here in N.. hospital. I was afraid to write to our brothers Adam and Alam for any kind of help because they have already done so much. So I asked believers in N… who really contributed from what they have even though they wished they could give more. They have saved this lady’s life. We are about to go back, and the situation is getting more complicated.

Please pray for Sudan. Our history is worse than any nation’s history we read. Your love and compassion are helping us to understand more deeply about Christianity.

Husein recorded Hiba’s testimony.
I am Hiba, a former Muslim who embraced the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Saviour. I was born on 2/3 1995. I was raised in Aljinena. But it has become a very terrible place for us to live. What I have seen with my own eyes I will never forget. Men women were shot to death, and youth were slaughtered like bulls. I kept dreaming about the situation I saw with my own eyes in Aljinena. I don’t have words to express my thanks to the CRM people, who rescued me from Aljinena. Let God bless them.

My appeal is that please continue to have favour toward us. My two boys were slaughtered in front of me, and my husband was shot to death and burned. I had them providing for us food and our needs, but today, there is no one. We stayed as guests with our relatives in N.., and they are also suffering. Please pray for God’s provision. God bless you.

Yagoub
My dear brothers and sisters, in the Lord. You remember, last time we were only 24 families from Kab… and Ku… who moved to Jabal Marra villages, and now 38 more families are added. We are still crying to God for his help. We have a number of widows and orphans who fled from the war zone areas in Kab.. and Ku... They are amazing ladies full of faith.

Like Nura, a 35 years old lady with 5 kids whose husband died and lost 16 family members, including her mother and father. She is among the groups that moved from Kab.. to Jabal Marra’s village of K….. The lady’s situation is miserable. No one thought that she would live normally. But she surprised everybody in the church. She said, “Though I lost my dad and my husband, who were my main source of provision, I still have a hope that Jesus will provide for me, as well as the family of the Lord who is standing with me in this situation. Thank you so much. I and my children are asking God to bless you, as you blessed us with our condition.”

Brother Alamadin, we have many widows like her, and Sudan’s situation is obvious. I felt I had to share this with you to share with our faith families to help our brothers and sisters who fled from the war. Our main source of income here is the food that we get out of rainwater. Now, we have 62 families from the above areas, and still, these people have family members who are daily joining. In security terms, there is no direct threat, but there is no food. Therefore, my brother, I appeal for God’s provision. If we can put them in our prayers that God will provide a budget of three month 150 dollars for each family that will help much for them to survive. But otherwise, the situation is really a life-threatening situation, specifically for widows and orphans. However, we are so thankful for your prayers and support. On top of that, we have there are hundreds of Muslims whose situation is even worse.

Please ask our brothers and sisters in CRM to pray for these needs. May the Lord bless you all.

This message is from Deacon Salim
“God’s family is a wonderful family. Through some wonderful sons and daughters of God, we were able to come out of a dangerous situation. Particularly, CRM people helped us to get out of Khartoum. In Khartoum, my child used to cry whenever the gun was fired. My wife rushed under the bed, which scared me a lot. I will never forget what CRM did to my life. Even when I was arrested and beaten by RSF, I was not scared as I was living in Khartoum. When we were released and we didn’t have anything to eat or drink, God brought our brother Juma driving his lorry, and I told him everything that had happened. Then he took us to Jabal Marra where all our extended family members are living. May God’s love and blessings follow you all your lifetime. Please pray for your own brothers and sisters. Here, the situation is quite difficult.

Adam wrote about the folks who were moved from El Geneina to Nyala

“The brothers who relocated from Geneina are absolutely feeling that they were rescued from the real death. After they were removed from there more than 4000 people were killed in the city and 8000 were wounded All the rest of people were forced to flee to the border of Chad. Many of them lost their children on the way and old people most of them died on the way. Pregnant women many of them died.”

Brother Alsadique from N… wrote:

The family of the Lord greetings from the families relocated from Aljinena to N...

Since that time, we arrived in N…, all of us we have arrived safe and sound only three kids have died. Possibly because of what they have experienced staying more than two weeks in war zone, they eat sometimes they don’t eat. No hospital was there to treat all kinds of sicknesses. However, we are all happy and sad at the same time. Happy because we got a help to escape the tormented war. But sad because many of them have died and others footed to Chad others are still not able to get a way to escape. But we thank God for all that he is doing.

Brother Alamadin, you have given me a very difficult task to do. For me to register these people’s names. People are very much Afraid to give their names as a group. Because RSF has got the list of Christian names. They are so determined to kill all the Christians. But by the grace of the Lord, I was able to do so. I was telling them that our brother Alamadin, who helped you through CRM, wants to share with their prayer partners so that they can pray for you. Therefore, I registered the names of the families and not their children. All of them send their best wishes to you.

Please pray for them many children are very sick. Medicine is very expensive, and living costs are extremely costly. Pray for God’s provision and healing.

Here is a story from one of these ladies who have been relocated from Aljinena to N...

I thank God for our brothers and sisters who help us in our condition. I lost hope when I was in Aljinena. But I still had hope for God’s mercy and grace.

The day I was to get out of Aljinena, I was so surprised by Jesus. I was praying together with my children, preparing for death and asking Jesus to receive us into his kingdom. But the answer was a child came running to my house “aunti, aunti we are to leave for N.. now!” She said God wants us to tell his people his words.

Then I said if God took me to any place, I would talk about Him. So, when we came to Ny... I knew God was telling me I still have you here talk to my people about me. My relatives in Ny… were so surprised by the way we came here. They had a lot of questions.

My answer for them was Jesus is the Lord, I believe, and trust who helped me out. One day my brother asked me, “can you tell me about your Jesus whom you talk too much about him?” I told him a powerful message, which Jesus asked us to forgive our enemies. Can we forgive Janjaweed (now called RSF)? He said no. I told him that’s why there is no peace. If we listened to Jesus and forgive each other, we would live in peace. But because we don’t listen to him, we have a war today. My brother was so interested because he was so challenged. He loved my conversation, and at the end, he believed in the Lord. He then talked with my relatives, and all of the family accepted the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe these people are going to change Darfur.

May the Lord bless those who made our escape possible. Keep praying for me. I know our Lord Jesus Christ is going to do miracles through me.
